RCOD 273-15 39413-18 Johnny Rotten. Obligatory Credit - CAMERA PRESS/Caroline Coon *HIGHER FEES*. Johnny Rotten, front man of the Sex Pistols, is pictured here in September 1976 after their first foreign gig in Paris. Johnny Rotten, real name John Lydon, joined the band after he was asked to audition at Malcolm Mclaren and Vivienne Westwood's boutique on the Kings Road. After a furied rendition of Alice Cooper's 'eighteen', the band accepted him and the Pistols were born. The Sex Pistols proved to be one of the most controversial bands in history, encompassing all the aggression and anti-establishment politics that the punk era represented. 1976 (KEYSTONE/CAMERA PRESS/Caroline Coon)
