Die Sonderabfaelle verlassen die Sondermuelldeponie Bonfol in speziellen Containern per Bahn, um im Deutschland oder Belgien fachgerecht verbrannt zu werden, am 13. Juli 2015 in Bonfol. Fuer die Sanierung der Deponie wurde das bestehende Schienennetz von "Chemins de fer du Jura" um ca. 700 Meter erweitert. Die Sondermuelldeponie Bonfol wurde 1961 bis 1976 von der Basler Chemischen Industrie, dem Kanton Bern, dem regionalen Gewerbe und der Armee genutzt. In der ehemaligen Tongrube wurden auf einer Flaeche von 20'000 Quadratmetern 114'000 Tonnen Sonderabfaelle deponiert. Die Sanierung der Deponie hat im April 2010 begonnen und soll 2016 abgeschlossen werden.
