ISRAEL JUDENTUM PESSACH
epa01315133 Rabbi Shmuele Rabinowitz, the Rabbi of the Western Wall, cleans out hand written notes, or prayers, left in the crevices of the Western Wall in Jerusalem, Judaism's holiest site, as the wall is cleaned on 15 April 2008, pior to the start of the week-long Jewish high holiday of Passover. Workers place the notes in a garbage bin. Passover commemorates the Israelites exodus from Egypt and is a time when Jews clean their homes and remove all traces of leavening. The Western Wall is cleared of its thousands of notes twice a year as the notes are gathered and delived to the nearby Mount of Olives where the notes are buried with a Rabbi reciting prayers.
