epa05833708 An agent of the US Border Patrol's Western Corridor Tunnel Interdiction Group stands in a segment of a cross border drug smuggling tunnel in San Diego, California, USA 06 March 2017. The tunnel, which was discovered in 2009 and had still been under construction, started in Tijuana, Mexico, was approximately 700 feet long and about 90 feet deep.The Border Patrol built two shafts about 30 feet north of the border to access the tunnel to allow study of tunnels and testing of tunnel detection.
