USA SEATTLE HOMELESS
Travis Eshelman, 19, walks through downtown Seattle on September 22, 2010. Eshelman has been homeless since coming to Seattle with an ex-girlfriend a year and a half ago. He is looking for work and hopes to get housing and raise a family one day. One in 5 kids coming out of foster care will be homeless within 2 years. Two million young adults across the nation are homeless. Each night 1000 young adults in the Seattle area are homeless. Seattle is one of the few US cities with homeless shelters for young adults, but even here they are being turned away in record numbers. Unemployment amongst young adults is at 19 percent, the highest it's been since 1948. (KEYSTONE/CAVAN IMAGES/Mike Kane)
