RCOD 273-X33 X 19205-10 Johnny Rotten. Obligatory Credit - CAMERA PRESS/Caroline Coon *HIGHER FEES*. Johnny Rotten, the front man of the Sex Pistols, arguably the most influential punk band of all time, is pictured here in 1978. Johnny Rotten, whose real name is John Lydon, joined the band after he was asked to audition at Malcolm Mclaren and Vivienne Westwood's boutique on the Kings Road. After a furied rendition of Alice Cooper's 'eighteen', the band accepted him and the Pistols were born. The Sex Pistols proved to be one of the most controversial bands in history, encompassing all the aggression and anti-establishment politics that the punk era represented. 1978 (KEYSTONE/CAMERA PRESS/Caroline Coon)
