SCHWEIZ NEAT CENERI BASISTUNNEL BAUSTELLE
Provisional train tracks are installed at the installation site of the Swiss Federal Railways, to transport railway technology to the Ceneri Base Tunnel, pictured in Camorino, Canton of Ticino, Switzerland, on February 22, 2017. The 15.4-kilometers-long Ceneri Base Tunnel is Switzerland's second largest tunnel-construction project. It passes under the Monte Ceneri Mountain and links Camorino (north) and Vezia (south). Together with the Gotthard Base Tunnel which opened in 2016, it forms the heart of the «New Railway Link through the Alps NRLA». The two Base Tunnels create a continuous flat north-south route. The Ceneri Base Tunnel is scheduled to be opened and become operational in 2020. (KEYSTONE/Gaetan Bally)
