SKI ALPIN WELTCUP 2009/10 VAL D'ISERE
France's Marie Marchand Arvier receives assistance after crashing during an alpine ski, Women's World Cup Super G race, in Val d'Isere, France, Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009. Marie Marchand-Arvier of France escaped serious injury after a spectacular crash Sunday during a World Cup super-G in the French Alps. Marchand-Arvier lost her balance in the lower part of the Oreiller-Killy course and fell a few gates before the finish. The 24-year-old Frenchwoman failed to get back on her feet and the race was interrupted so she could be treated on the slope. She was then carried off on a sleigh and transported to Val d'Isere's medical center, where she will undergo a scan. (AP Photo/Giovanni Auletta)
