This icon represents the seven sacred events associated with the days of the week: the Resurrection (Sunday); the assembly of the archangels (Monday); the beheading of John the Baptist (Tuesday); the Annunciation (Wednesday); Christ Washing the Disciples' Feet (Thursday); the Crucifixion (Friday); and the Second Coming (Saturday). The saints, including kings, bishops, apostles, martyrs, monks, and nuns, are gathered below Christ to praise him and await his judgement.
