epa01741556 Former policeman in West Berlin Karl-Heinz Kurras pictured in Berlin, Germany, 24 May 2009. The Stasi revelations about the fatal shooting of Benno Ohnesorg, the German university student killed during a demonstration in West Berlin in 1967, again stirred up the debate on the elucidation of the activities of the German Democratic Repubic's secret service Stasi in West Germany. The head of the research association 'SED-Staat' accused the government agency, which is responsible for the Stasi papers, not to access them in a systematic fashion. Fresh charges were filed 22 May 2009 against Kurras who was acquitted of the controversial shooting of Ohnsesorg, following new information that the officer also worked for the Stasi. The charges against Karl-Heinz Kurras were brought by Carl-Wolfgang Holzapfel, the chairman of a group representing the victims of Stalinism. EPA/KAY KIRCHWITZ
