SERBIEN KOSOVO KONFLIKT OPFER RUECKFUEHRUNG
Ethnic Albanians pay their last tribute to 41ethnic Albanians war victims whose remains were returned by Serbian authorities after being exhumed from a mass grave in Merdare, Serbia, on Friday 25 November 2005. The ethnic Albanians were killed in the 1998-99 Kosovo war but their remains were transported to the Serbian capital where they had been buried in mass graves. The burial pits were discovered in 2001, filled with the corpses of some 800 ethnic Albanians. The remains are DNA-tested and identified before being returned to the UN-administered province of Kosovo in groups of about 30. (KEYSTONE/EPA/VALDRIN XHEMAJ)
