A picture dated 24 May 2008 shows US actor Dennis Hopper pose for photographers during a photocall for German director Wim Wenders' film 'The Palermo Shooting' running in competition at the 61st edition of the Cannes Film Festival, in Cannes, France. Media reported that Hopper died aged 74 at at his home in Venice, Los Angeles, USA on 29 May 2010. The actor had been diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in 2009. He became famous for his 1969 American road movie 'Easy Rider' which he wrote, directed and starred in. Hopper's prolific acting credits include the films Rebel Without A Cause, Apocalypse Now, Blue Velvet, River s Edge, Hoosiers, The Indian Runner, True Romance, Speed, and Waterworld. Apart from his career in film Hopper was a photographer and painter. Hopper was married five times and leaves behind four children and two granddaughters. EPA/GUILLAUME HORCAJUELO
