epa08939295 A worker orders oxygen bullets that must be filled in an oxygen plat due to the increase in covid-19 patients, in Lima, Peru, 14 January 2021 (issued 15 January 2021). Out of work during confinement and outraged by the exorbitant oxygen prices at the worst peak of the pandemic in Peru, thirteen friends invested their savings in an oxygen plant, 'a lung' to save lives at a fair price in one of the most humble and populous of Lima. In record time, this group made up of administrators, economists, technicians, engineers and lawyers, among other various professions, circumvented a bureaucratic tangle and launched PGO, short for Oxygen Generating Plant, just weeks before the second wave of the covid-19 pandemic reached Peru.
