MONGOLEI NOMADEN FRAU
Lhagva, a 72-year-old Mongolian nomad sits inside her family 'ger' (a tent-like structure built with a collapsable wooden frame) in the plains 250 km west of Ulaan Baatar, Saturday 06 September 2003. Roughly 50 percent of Mongolia's 2.5 million people still maintain a nomadic lifestyle, moving all their possessions as often as twice a month in search of fresh grass for their livestock. During Mongolia's Communist era (prior to 1992) Lhagva was awarded Order of Maternal Glory First Class for bearing thirteen children. ( KEYSTONE/EPA PHOTO/EPA/MICHAEL REYNOLDS)
