SOUTH AFRICA BIG WAVE SURFING
55 year old Gary Linden from California in the USA surfs a 5 meter wave during a practice session of the 2005 Red Bull Big Wave Africa competition in Cape Town, South Africa Tuesday 07 June 2005. 12 of the world's best big wave surfers are gathered in Cape Town waiting for the waves to get to the required 6 meters height to hold the contest. The international field of big wave surfers braved the cold, shark infested waters today to get in a practice session at Cape Town's infamous outer reef break known as 'Dungeons'. 2 days earlier a Great White shark killed a spearfisherman off Cape Town.
