epa07794271 A view of a house destroyed following floods, in Geli, some 40 km north of Khartoum, Sudan, 25 August 2019. According to local witnesses, Geli inhabitants were surprised by the sudden and heavy arrival of water in their streets. Heavy rain waters coming from higher grounds around them reached them in the form of a flash flood. Geli dwellers said that some 600 mostly mud houses had been destroyed. According to aid agencies reports, floods have affected some 190,000 people in various states of Sudan, reportedly killing 60. EPA/AMEL PAIN
