NORDIRLAND GEFAENGNIS "MAZE PRISON"
The entrance to H-Block 4 at the former Maze Prison in Northern Ireland, Thursday 04 May 2006. Tomorrow will see the 25th anniversary of the death of Irish Republican Hunger Striker Bobby Sands, who after being arrested at 17 years of age, spent most of the rest of his life in jail. He died at 27 on 5 May 1981, after 66 days of hunger-strike, during which he wrote poems, kept a prison journal and was elected as Member of Parliament for Fermanagh- South Tyrone 1981.
