The tunnel, which was discovered in 2009 and had still been under construction, started in Tijuana, Mexico, was approximately 700 feet long and about 90 feet deep.The Border Patrol built two shafts about 30 feet north of the border to access the tunnel to allow study of tunnels and testing of tunnel detection.
