Apollo 14 picture of the central station of the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP) with several components of the package visible in the background. The ALSEP is designed to be carried to the moon by astronauts, set up & left behind to transmit information back to earth. In the foreground the Modularized Equipment Transporter (MET) is partially visible (photo bottom left corner). This is a handcart used to extend sampling capability of the astronauts.
