The 1661 painting "Study of an Old man in Profile" believed to be painted by Rembrandt van Rijn is shown in Rembrandt House Museum in Amsterdam, Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005. Rembrandt experts unveiled four portraits Thursday previously attributed to his students that they now believe came from the brush of the 17th century Dutch master himself, and said they were reassessing the way Rembrandt worked. Professor Ernst van de Wetering, chairman of the Rembrandt Research Project, said he could reattribute the works, one of which underwent a major restoration, to Rembrandt from their subtle lighting and brush work. A small exhibition focusing on this discovery, titled "Rembrandt's oil studies: new light on an old problem" will be showing in the Rembrandt House from Sept. 22 to Dec. 4, 2005.
