JAPAN ERDBEBEN FLUTWELLE UNGLUECK REAKTOR ZONE
epa05167968 A picture dated 12 April 2011 shows Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan bowing to the national flag upon his arrival at a press conference at his official residence in Tokyo, Japan. The fifth anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake will be marked on 11 March 2016. The 9.0-magnitude earthquake that struck 11 March 2011 and triggered a tsunami claimed the lives of an estimated 15,000 people, and led to a nuclear accident on a level that had not been seen since Chernobyl in 1986. Japan had not seen such death and destruction since the two atomic bombings of World War II. EPA/FRANCK ROBICHON
