DEUTSCHLAND BUNDESTAG 1972
A view over the plenum of the German Bundestag in Bonn, West Germany, May 17, 1972. After steamy debates two bills on eastern policy were passed by the members of parliament: A treaty with the Soviet Union, calling for mutual renunciation of force and the acceptance of current European borders (Moscow Pact, signed in August 1970), and a nonaggression treaty with Poland recognizing the Oder-Neisse line as Poland's western boundary (signed in December 1970). Ten members of parliament voted against the Moscow treaty, even 17 against the Warsaw agreement. (KEYSTONE/DPA/STR) === , ===
