epa01308020 Egyptian inspects the aftermath of two days of violent clashes between thousands of textile workers protesting the mounting cost of living and anti-riot police who fired rubber bullets and tear gas in the northern Egyptian town of Mehalla, 130km north of Cairo, Egypt, 08 April 2008. The city has become a flashpoint for popular protests by workers and residents against low wages and skyrocketing prices of food staples. A strike in the city in 2006 led to a wave of industrial action around the country. Order has been largely restored in Mahalla after two days of clashes, A 15-year-old boy was reportedly killed, 35 demonstrators and 26 policemen injured and 157 people arrested.
