View of the Mohrenbrunnen fountain, also known as the "de Mohrejoggel" (The Moor muppet) at the Fronwagplatz square in the old town of Schaffhausen, Switzerland, pictured on February 19, 2008. The column with the figure was built in 1520 and depicts Jaspar, the youngest of the Three Holy Kings, with a scimitar, a golden cup and a shield. The figure represents the wealthy citizen of the town. The wooden fountain was replaced by a stone fountain and renamed from Schwertbrunnen (sword fountain) in Mohrenbrunnen in 1535. Die Saeule mit der Figur wurde 1520 errichtet. 1535 wurde der damalige Holzbrunnen durch einen aus Stein. Gleichzeitig wurde der Brunnen von Schwertbrunnen in Mohrenbrunnen umbenannt. Dies nach dem als Mohr dargestellten Kaspar, dem juengsten der Heiligen Drei Koenige mit Krummschwert, Goldpokal und Wappenschild. Die Brunnenfigur symbolisiert den wohlhabenden Stadtbuerger.
