(KEYSTONE/Steffen Schmidt) Swiss International Air Lines pilots leave the plenary meeting of the pilot association Swiss Pilots during a one-day strike at Zurich airport in Kloten, Switzerland, Tuesday, September 26, 2006. The strike so far has led to the cancellation of more than 128 European flights affecting 8 300 passengers. The action concerns the 24 machines in the Avro fleet, the rest of the European network remained untouched. Swiss Pilots Association (SPA), one of two pilots unions at Swiss, voted to go on strike on Monday after the airline failed to meet its demands for improved salaries and benefits. The more than 100 pilots taking part in the action want their pay package to match those of their ex-Swissair colleagues. (KEYSTONE/Steffen Schmidt)
