A swiss family stranded in Maldives arrive in Doha International Airport on Monday, 27 December, 2004, after Male's international airport was reopened, and Qatar Airways airlifted 130 Holidaymakers in Maldives affected by the devasting Asian tidal waves, as a humanitarian relief effort. The tidal waves triggered by a massive 8.9 earthquake off Indonesia have taken up to 23,000 lives in the South East Asian countries affected. At least 46 people have died in the Maldives. EPA/STR
