CERVICAL INTRAEPITHELIAL NEOPLASIA (CIN)
Light micrograph of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) , the presence of abnormal cells on the surface of a woman's cervix. Here, atypical cells with pleomorphism and mitotic activity extend through the full thickness of the epithelium. A Pap smear and colposcopy are two gynecological procedures performed to monitor the cells and appearance of the cervix. (KEYSTONE/SCIENCE SOURCE/BIOPHOTO ASSOC.)
