Media reports state on 26 August 2010 that Asil Nadir is reportedly to return to Britain within hours, after evading trial since 1993. Mr Nadir reportedly told a British newspaper the he was leaving his home in northern Cyprus to face fraud charges relating to the collapse of his Polly Peck business empire. Mr Nadir was charged with fraud and theft when he was chief executive of Polly Peck, a business empire he built from scratch which traded in products as diverse as groceries and electronics.
