TUERKEI BIO LANDWIRTSCHAFT
Mehmet Ozmen and his family are separating the hazelnut from the green nutshell with the help of a haymaker. In the region of Samsun, organic hazelnut production is undertaken in approximately 4500 acre land. Started with 28 farmers at Camlàca Village in Terme in 1992, today the production is carried over by 70 farmers. These farmers unified in 2005 and founded the first organic hazelnut production union in the Black Sea region. (KEYSTONE/NAR PHOTOS/Tolga Sezgin)
