Construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, California, USA, circa 1934. The suspension bridge took four years to build and opened on 28th May 1937. At the time, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world. It is used for road, cycle and pedestrian transport from the city of San Francisco to Marin County, crossing the opening from San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean.
