The Nobel Peace Prize 2022 has been awarded to human rights advocate Ales Bialiatski from Belarus, the Russian human rights organization Memorial and the Ukrainian human rights organization Center for Civil Liberties. The Nobel Peace Prize after the Nobel Prizes for Medicine, Physics, Chemistry and Literature was the fifth and final prize area that the prize fonder, Swedish inventor, entrepreneur, scientist and businessman Alfred Nobel mentioned in his will. While the other Nobel Prizes are awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, is the Nobel Peace Prize annually awarded by a committee elected by the Norwegian Parliament (Stortinget).
