ZWEITER WELTKRIEG INDOCHINA U.S. BOMBER
In this handout from the U.S. Navy, a U.S. Curtiss Helldiver SB2C flies over a Japanese oiler smoking furiously a few moments after being hit by Navy-dropped bombs on the first day of carrier-based strikes on enemy shipping and shore installations along the southeast coast of Indochina, Jan. 12, 1945. During the two-day strike planes from Admiral Halsey's Third Fleet virtually destroyed three enemy convoys according to the Navy's announcement. (AP Photo/U.S. Navy)
