Turkish President Erdogan on 11 April 2016 filed a request for prosecution against German satirist Boehmermann, the Mainz public prosecutor's office confirmed. German prosecutors had on 06 April 2016 initiated inquiries on Boehmermann on the suspicion of insulting representatives of foreign states.
