Peter Ginz, a 14-year-old Czech Jewish child is shown in this undated photo. Ginz sketched a drawing known as the Moon Landscape sometime between 1942-1944 during his captivity in Theresienstadt concentration camp in the then Czechoslovakia. Ginz, from Prague, was captured by Nazi forces occupying the former Czechoslovakia and killed in 1944 at the Auschwitz concentration camp. Israel's first astronaut, Colonel Ilan Ramon, whose mother is an Auschwitz survivor, and whose grandfather and other members of his family perished in the Nazi death camps, carried the Ginz drawing with him on the Columbia space shuttle which broke apart on reentry February 1, 2003 killing all seven crew on board.
