SCHWEIZ ZWEITER WELTKRIEG AERZTEMISSION
Swiss doctors and German officers leave Switzerland for the first Swiss medical mission to Smolensk on the Eastern Front, pictured on October 15, 1941. The politically motivated mission under the auspices of the Red Cross only took care of German war victims and is therefore a controversial episode of the Swiss policy of neutrality.
