The rock crystals were discovered during construction of the tunnels for NAGRA's rock laboratory inside Mount Grimsel. At the rock laboratory, NAGRA conducts experiments in crystalline stone to study the permanent disposal of nuclear waste. Die Bergkristalle wurden waehrend des Tunnelbaus fuer das Felslabor der Nagra im Grimsel BE entdeckt.
