Potassium Iodide pill distribution. The "anti-nuke" pills were given out to residents in case of a terrorist nuclear attack, Charlotte, North Carolina, 2002. The County Health Commissioner in charge of distribution acknowledge that the pills would do little good, and speculated that half of the residents would swallow them the day they received them.
