Prompted was the uproar by the Briger original, the doctor Ernest Guglielminetti. He was constructing the first pavement surface made of tar worldwide, what lead to massive protests. Maerz 1902 wurde die Corniche-Strasse in Monaco als erste Strasse weltweit mit Teer bedeckt.
