A control camera is lowered into the demineralized water at the fuel rods, pictured on September 23, 2011, in Doettingen in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland. The nuclear power plants Beznau 1 and 2 produce power all around the clock. The only exception being a two to four weeks stop in summer for the yearly renovation and inspection and the changing of the fuel elements. Beznau 1 and 2 went into operation in 1969 and 1971 respectively. Benznau 1 was the first nuclear power plant in Switzerland. The facility provides around 6 bilion kilowatt hours per year. September 2011 in Doettingen. 1971 in Betrieb. Beznau-1 war damit das erste Kernkraftwerk der Schweiz. Die Anlage liefert rund 6 Milliarden Kilowattstunden Strom im Jahr.
