Russian WW1 soldiers deserting the Kerensky offensive in July 1917. The Provisional Revolutionary government intended to stay in the war, while the Bolsheviks sought to make a separate peace with the Central Powers. Lenin characterized the mass desertions, as the army voting with it's feet. (BSLOC_2012_4_150) (KEYSTONE/Everett Collection/)
