SCHWEIZ FORMEL 1 SAUBER COMPUTER
HANDOUT - The new supercomputer named Albert is pictured at the Sauber Petronas Formula One team headquarters in Hinwil, Switzerland, Thursday, December 9, 2004. After building a modern wind tunnel for vehicle development, the team now owns a powerful computing system to calculate Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD to analyse aerodynamic components. The computer is one of the most powerful in the Formula One and car industry. It was built by the swiss entreprise Dalco in cooperation with Fluent software. It can calculate up to 2,3 terraflops per second, has 1 terrabyte of ram and 11 terrabytes of disk space. The machine is 10 meters in width, 2,3 meters high and weighs 18 tons.
