OIL SPILL CONTROL
Oil spill control. Inflatable booms placed across a river to prevent a spill of paraffin (kerosene) from flowing downstream. The spill was caused by the derailment of a train (in the background) that was transporting the chemical. Spills of fossil fuels such as paraffin can cause severe environmental damage. Photographed in Kent, England. (KEYSTONE/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY/ROBERT BROOK)
