DEUTSCHLAND ERDGAS PIPELINE NORD STREAM 1
epa02901457 (FILE) A file picture dated 05 July 2010 shows pipelay barge 'Castoro 10' laying pipes for the Nord Stream pipeline in the Bay of Greifswald near Lubmin, Germany. Russian officials on 06 September 2011 opened the taps on a new natural gas pipeline crossing the Baltic Sea, in a key step towards a major expansion of energy export capacity to Europe. The 1,224-kilometre Nord Stream pipeline, starting at Russia's northwestern town of Vyborg, will be able to make its first fuel deliveries to Germany's terminus near the town of Greifswald in late October or early November, officials at the Russian energy company Gazprom said.
