An undated filer shows the National Congress Complex designed by Brazilian star architect Oscar Niemeyer at the Plaza of the Three Powers in Brasilia, Brazil. The dish-like building on the right is an assembly building, the dome-shaped building on the left houses the senate and the towers in the centre are office buildings. Niemeyer was born in 1907 in Rio de Janeiro and went on to become one of the most prolific architects of the 20h century. Brasilia, designed by town planner Lucio Costa and architect Niemeyer, was built from 1957 until 1960 in the middle of the Brazilian prairie and inaugurated as capital of Brazil on April 21, 1960. Already in 1891 the Constitution of Brazil demanded to relocate the capital to the country's centre. In 1987 Brasilia was declared a UNESCO World Heritage. (KEYSTONE/DPA/Grimm) === ===
