SCHWEIZ PHILOSOPHIE KARL JASPERS
Portrait of the German philosopher and author Karl Jaspers, pictured in 1969 in Basel, Switzerland. Jaspers was one of the specialists in existential philosophy and published a book about "Psychologie der Weltanschauungen" (1919). As one of the most important representatives he fomulated the term of "Grenzsituation" (border situation) and their terminological base. As an opponent of marxism and psychoanalysis Jaspers engaged author and critisized the doctrine of the atomic deterrent of the world powers. Disappointed about the development of Germany Jaspers asks "Die Schuldfrage" (1949), the question of fault by rejecting the thesis of the collective guilt with the argument of the political liability. From 1948 to 1961 Jaspers worked as a professor in Basel, Switzerland. Karl Jaspers died on February 26, 1969 in Basel, Switzerland. Als Gegner von Marxismus und Psychoanalyse engagierte sich Jaspers aufgrund seiner ethischen Philosophie nach 1945 als politischer Schriftsteller und kritisierte die Doktrin der atomaren Abschreckung der Weltmaechte. Enttaeuscht ueber die Entwicklung Deutschlands stellte Jaspers "Die Schuldfrage" (1949), indem er die These von der Kollektivschuld mit dem Argument der politischen Haftung zurueckwies.
