JAHRESRUECKBLICK 2004 - PEOPLE - OTA SIK, GESTORBEN AM 23. AUGUST 2004: Der tschechisch-schweizerische Wirtschaftswissenschaftler un Politiker Ota Sik haelt am 26. November 1968 in St. Gallen, Schweiz, einen Vortrag. Er und seine Mitarbeiter entwickelten in der ehemaligen Tschechoslowakei Vorschlaege fuer demokratische und marktwirtschaftliche Reformen des Sozialismus. Diese trugen wesentlich zum Prager Fruehling 1968 bei. Danach amtierte er als stellvertretender Ministerpraesident. Mit dem Einmarsch der Truppen des Warschauer Paktes im August 68 emigrierte er in die Schweiz, wo er Asyl und 1983 das Buergerrecht erhielt.
