KOREA NORD PROPAGANDA
A picture dated 01 June 2006 shows a mural standing at the entrance of a pharmaceutical factory in Pyongyang, North Korea showing leader Kim Jong Il whose personality cult inherited from his father Kim Il Song has made him the subject for much of the artistic expression in reclusive North Korea. North Korea remains the leading exponent of the Socialist Realist school of artistic expression which dates back to the early revolutionary Soviet Union. Strident slogans, square jawed worker heroes and triumphal praise of the leadership add colour to the otherwise drab and concrete filled expanses of North Korea. EPA/ADRIAN BRADSHAW
