POLAND BELARUS BORDER MIGRATION CRISIS
epa09585763 The grave of Syrian migrant Ahmed Al-Hassan is seen at Tatar cemetery outside the village of Bohoniki, near the Polish-Belarusian border, eastern Poland, 16 November 2021. 19-year-old Ahmed drowned in the Bug River as he tried to get to Poland. Poland has been struggling to stem the flow of asylum-seekers, refugees and migrants crossing into the country from Belarus. The Polish government says the migrants have been invited to Belarus by the Belarusian president, allegedly under the promise they will be able to live in the EU. Thousands of people who want to obtain asylum in the European Union have been trapped at low temperatures at the border since 08 November. EPA/MARTIN DIVISEK
