CHINA VERKEHR LUFTFAHRT
Aerial view of Hong Kong International Airport, Saturday 29 November 2003. The airport was completed in 1997, the year of the handover of the territory back to China. A downturn in tourism traffic and increasing competition from four other international airports in the Pearl River Delta has hindered business but Hong Kong is now working on a number of ambitious projects to revitalise its economy after 6 years of lacklustre performance. Economists have revised growth rates upwards repeatedly this year and now estimate a 4.5% year on year increase in GDP. (KEYSTONE/EPA/ADRIAN BRADSHAW)
