AFGHANISTAN-MALNUTRITION-CHILDREN
This photograph taken on February 25, 2024 shows Afghan burqa-clad women and their children waiting to be inoculated during the 'outreach vaccination' program, a routine immunization work at a health post in the Aab Bareek village of Argo district in the Badakhshan province. Malnutrition has been exacerbated by the upheaval sparked by the Taliban's sweep to power in 2021. Ten percent of children under five in Afghanistan are malnourished and 45 percent have stunted growth -- one of the world's highest rates, according to the United Nations.
